Varying defects are classified as

  • Critical Defects – hazardous or unsafe conditions or non-compliance with regulations, includes sharp points or edges, stray needles, loose studs or missing suffocation warning labels.
  • Major Defects –reduced usability, salability or value of the product, can include open seams, holes or broken stitches, shading among panels, wrong labels, zipper malfunction, missing bartack, asymmetry, permanent fold line.
  • Minor Defects – unlikely to reduce product usability, includes items such as loose threads, water spots, chalk mark.
