The test method of silk printing reliability

Silkscreen Printing is a stenciling method that involves printing ink through stencils that are supported by a porous fabric mesh stretched across a frame called a screen. Silkscreen Printing is ideally suited for bold and graphic designs. Among the most common problems encountered with silk screen adhesives has to do with adhesion, specifically adhesive strength.


The test method of silk printing reliability

The following 15 test methods that each brand user can test according to their own enterprise requirements.


1. High temperature storage test

Storage temperature: + 66 ° C

Storage time: 48 hours

Acceptance standard: after the sample is released, after 2 hours at room temperature, the printing surface has no wrinkling, blister, crack, peeling and no obvious change of color luster

2. Low temperature test

Storage temperature: - 40 ° C

Storage time: 48 hours

Acceptance standard: after the sample is released, after 2 hours at room temperature, the printing surface has no wrinkling, blister, crack, peeling and no obvious change of color luster

3. High temperature and high humidity storage test

Storage temperature/humidity: 85% + 66 ° C /

Storage time: 96 hours

Acceptance standard: after the sample is released, after 2 hours at room temperature, the printing surface has no wrinkling, blister, crack, peeling and no obvious change of color luster

4. Thermal shock test

Storage temperature: - 40 ° C / + 66 ° C

Circulation: to 40 ° C to + 66 ° C for a cycle, the temperature between the conversion time of no more than five minutes, a total of 12 cycles

Acceptance standard: after the sample is released, the parts and printing surfaces are not wrinkled, foaming, cracking, peeling and no obvious change of color luster after being placed at room temperature for 2 hours

5. Silk/transfer adhesion test

Purpose: to evaluate the adhesion of silk/remove paint

Test tools: 1.3m600 transparent adhesive tape or adhesive tape of more than 5.3N/18mm

Test method: 3 m600 transparent tape is to test your sample print or logo on the theory of six sigma quality pressing with the hand, and then pull up the tape tail angled to test 90 degrees, quickly remove tape same place repeat 3 times.

Acceptance criteria: to observe the surface with the naked eye, the silk/move print font or pattern should be able to be clearly and clearly able to defend without stripping.

6. Friction test

Test purpose: to evaluate the adhesion of coating surface paint and silk/remove paint.

Test equipment: eraser

Test method: fixed the test piece, with 500G vertical force and 15MM trip back and forth, every single trip was once. Silk/move printing type or pattern, continuous friction 50 times.

Acceptance criteria: to observe the surface with the naked eye, wear can not be seen, and silk/transfer should be able to be clearly and easily defended

7. Anti-solvent testing

(1) isopropyl alcohol test

Take 1ml of isopropanol solution on the sample surface or the silk/remove surface. After 10 minutes, dry the isopropyl alcohol solution with a white cloth

(2) anti-alcohol test

Test method: cotton ball or white cloth infiltrating the concentration of 99% alcohol solution, and then to 1 kg pressure between 1 and 1 second at sample print and pattern in the same position try 20 times back and forth.

Acceptance criteria: the surface of the sample should be clearly visible after wiping, and the color should not be unpolished and faded.

8. Thumb test

Conditions: over 5PCS of experimental sample

Experimental procedure: take samples and place the thumb on the printed picture, and rub the force of 3+0.5/ -0kgf 15 times.

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of products can not be cut/line/ink adhesion, otherwise it is not qualified.

9. 75% alcohol test

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, white cotton gauze, 75% alcohol, 1.5+0.5/ -0kgf

Experiment procedure: tie the bottom of 1.5KGF to white cotton gauze, dip in 75% alcohol, and then use white cotton gauze to return and return 30 back and forth on the printed pattern (about 15SEC).

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of the products must not have the fall/gap line/ink adhesion and so on, may allow the color light, but the printing pattern should be clear and not fuzzy, otherwise it is not qualified.

10. 95% alcohol test

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, white cotton gauze, 95% alcohol, 1.5+0.5/ -0kgf

Experiment procedure: tie the bottom of 1.5KGF to white cotton gauze, dip in 95% alcohol, and then use white cotton gauze to return 30 back and forth on the printed pattern (about 15SEC).

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of the products must not have the fall/gap line/ink adhesion and so on, may allow the color light, but the printing pattern should be clear and not fuzzy, otherwise it is not qualified.

11. 810 tape test

Conditions: test samples of more than 5PCS, 810 tapes

Experiment procedure: the tape of 810 adhesive tape is glued on screen printing, then pull up the adhesive tape in the direction of 45 degree Angle, and measure three times in a row.

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of products cannot be cut or broken.

12. 3M600 tape test

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, 250 tapes

Experimental procedure: the 3M600 adhesive tape is completely glued to the screen printing, and quickly pull up the tape at a 45 degree Angle.Just test it once.

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of products cannot be cut or broken.


Tape testing

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, 250 tapes

Experimental procedure: the adhesive tape of 250 tapes is completely glued to the screen printing, and the tape is pulled up rapidly in the direction of 45 degrees, and three times in a row.

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of products cannot be cut or broken.

14, gasoline wipe test

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, white cotton gauze, gasoline mixture (gasoline: 75% alcohol = 1:1), 1.5+0.5/ -0kgf system

Experiment procedure: tie the bottom of the 1.5kgf system to white cotton gauze, dip in the gasoline mixture, and return 30 back and forth on the printed pattern (about 15 SEC).

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of the products should not have the loss/gap/breakage/ink adhesion, but the color may be weak, but the printing pattern should be clear and not fuzzy, otherwise it will not be qualified.

15. The hexane polishing test

Conditions: 5PCS of experimental samples, white cotton gauze, n-hexane, 1.5+0.5/ -0kgf

Experiment procedure: tie the bottom of the 1.5KGF to white cotton gauze, dip in the hexane solution, and return 30 back and forth on the printed pattern (about 15 SEC).

Experiment judgment: the printing pattern of the products should not have the loss/gap/breakage/ink adhesion, but the color may be weak, but the printing pattern should be clear and not fuzzy, otherwise it will not be qualified.
